Did you know that it’s not so much blood that sharks go for, as a fluttering heartbeat? They sense the flutter, and interpret it (rightly) as weakness. The above isn’t on zoom by the way … they really were that close. I was rather glad to be in a cage (and thank God I hadn’t yet seen this …!).
Anyway: an amazing adventure. Even the boat trip out to the cage and back (it was anchored about 5 miles out into the Pacific) was a thrill, and with amazing views (below). Right at the bottom: the tranquil scene at dawn, just as we set out from the harbour.
