Well here we are in Bath; and here’s the Abbey, which we pottered round yesterday afternoon. It’s another one of those “right under our noses” things (see a couple of posts ago) … how many times have I now been to Bath, but never seen the inside of the Abbey? Even from the picture, you get the sense of how it’s built for the eye to be drawn upwards … the better to contemplate the divine.
But who needs that when you live with Tony, eh …?
Bath’s feeling increasingly like home as we wander round it. Let’s hope the house-sale doesn’t fall through! We were in Bristol this morning signing the contracts (although there are one or two small things still to be cleared up before the vendors sign, and we can formally exchange). All being well, the sale should complete at the beginning of September. But more on that in a couple of days, when we’re going to be visiting the house again!
Tomorrow’s treat is to walk down the towpath from Bath (below), which’ll – eventually – take us all the way to the new abode!
